So Cal Tattoo, established 1992, tattoo industry, stereotypical tattoo wearer, Gaffey St in San Pedro

Determined to counter the idea that a bad clientele was ensured, a full-blown advertising campaign was begun. The tattoo industry hadn't attempted print or yellow page ads, much less cable T.V. advertising. But that is exactly what So Cal Tattoo undertook. To boost chances of success, advertising was paired with the principles of a bright, clean (including sterile), and friendly environment. Having received many tattoos in older studios owner Terri Morgan had a great desire for an establishment in which female clients would feel comfortable. The shop was open from 10AM to 11PM and was extremely busy. The fortunes of this tattoo studio have been enhanced by their strong professional work ethic and many other blessings. In the first 20 years of business few things have changed. Though the choice to focus solely on tattooing has meant they no longer offer piercing services. The remnants of love and friendship for those artists who have built careers and moved on still linger in the hearts of those who choose to remain a part of this labor of love which they call So Cal Tattoo. Like many businesses, they have felt the recent squeeze of recession. This has given them a greater appreciation of all the hard work in the early days. So Cal Tattoo has since moved their location to the center of the Arts District in San Pedro and today, they are more readily available to their current clients and look forward to meeting their new clients; Walk-ins are Welcome. They are especially grateful to those who have been such a large part of their almost two decades of success and feel privileged to be Tattooers.
